Shared Collections — Collect Together, No Account Needed

Shared collections are the second tab inside Collections. Everyone involved sees the same state and can edit it — no account, no email, no sign-up.

Quick guide

1. Tap Collections → Shared → "+ Add".
2. On the Create tab, enter a name. Optionally pick an existing collection under Copy contents from — the cards are copied, your original stays untouched.
3. In the new collection, tap Manage → Create access. Give it a name ("Max") and send the link via the share sheet.
4. The other person taps the link — or pastes it into the app under "+ Add" → Join. Done.

From then on every change reaches everyone: adding cards, checking them off, deleting, sorting.

How this works without an account

The link is the key. Instead of signing up with a password, there is an access you hand out. What that means for you:

• We cannot see what is in your collection. It is encrypted, and the key to it stays with you and the people you give it to.
• Whoever has the link is in. Forward it and the recipients get in too. That is why you create one access link per person — each can be revoked individually without disturbing the others.
• Shared collections need an internet connection. Offline you see the last loaded state but cannot edit. Your private collections are unaffected and stay fully usable offline.

Joining by copy & paste

The join tab is not the fallback, it is the reliable route. Whether a tapped link actually opens inside the app is up to the operating system and does not work in every situation — pasting always does.

"+ Add" → Join, paste the link into the field, tap Join. Important: copy the link in full and do not cut anything off. If it is incomplete, the key is missing — and the app tells you so right in the field.

The same field also accepts an owner key. The app works out on its own what you pasted and tells you what will happen before it does.

Backing up the owner key

Whoever creates a shared collection owns it. Only the owner can revoke access links or delete the collection for everyone. The key that allows this lives on your device alone — there is no account we could restore it from, and reinstalling the app destroys it.

So: Manage → Save owner key. The key is shown and handed over through the share sheet — ideally straight into a password manager.

Restoring

New phone, or a fresh install? "+ Add" → Join, paste the owner key you saved. The app recognises it and makes you the owner again, with full access to the current state.

One limitation: the list of individual access links does not come back. You will not be able to revoke single links afterwards, but you can still delete the collection as a whole.

Wishlists for friends

The most practical use case: a friend creates a shared collection with the cards they are looking for and sends you the link.

Now you carry their list inside your own app — at the card shop, at a convention, while opening displays. Find one of the cards and check it off right there (swipe left in list view). Your friend sees it immediately, and nobody buys the same card twice.

It works the same way in reverse: share your wishlist once, and everyone picking up cards for you works from the same state instead of a screenshot from last week.

What else it is good for

• Completing a set together — create a set collection, share it, and everyone marks what they have.
• Duplicates and trade stacks — everything you can trade away, in one place your trade partners can see.
• One household, several devices — siblings or partners on the same inventory, without anyone "owning" the collection.
• Scan straight into it — a shared collection can be set as the scan target, so scanned cards land directly in the shared list.

Limits

• Free: 1 shared collection of your own. With Premium: 5. Collections you were invited to do not count — you can have as many of those as you like.
• Up to 1000 cards per shared collection.
• 180 days without a change and a collection expires. The app warns you in advance, and any edit resets the clock.
